Buxton man charged with series of driving offences

A Buxton man has been charged with a series of driving offences after police used a stinger to arrest him following a chase.

Derbyshire's Roads Policing Team, who were part of Channel 5's hit show Traffic Cops, were patrolling in the High Peak on Tuesday evening (7 December) when they spotted a car in the Chapel area which allegedly failed to stop.

Following a pursuit that ended in Buxton, officers used a stinger and arrested the driver.

Daniel Oliver, of Eagle Parade in Buxton, has now been charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving a vehicle with no insurance, failing to stop and failing to surrender to custody (court warrant).

After being remanded in police custody, the 27-year-old appeared at South Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (8 December) where he was subsequently bailed to appear at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday 5 January 2022.
