Birthday celebration to raise cash for good cause

Staff from Glossop's Peak Active Sport are going the extra mile to raise cash for a good cause and celebrate PAS's 15th birthday.

On Monday, team members started a 15-day programme covering 15,000 metres a day to generate £1,500 for Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.

Steve Brackenridge, the founder of PAS, said: “We are doing 15,000 metres on either a bike, rowing machine, ski erg (an indoor ski-ing  machine), or on foot by either walking or running.

“The challenge will be taken on by different members of staff from the PAS team and will last for 15 days, that’s a total of 225,000 metres.”

He added: “We’ve done some wonderful fundraising in the past for some amazing local charities, but this time we have chosen Glossop Mountain Rescue Team as we all know they do a fantastic job keeping people safe all year round.

“Thank you for all your hard work and we hope to raise some vital funds to help you maintain your outstanding service.

“Please help us achieve our target of £1,500 by donating via our Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/stephen-brackenridge-pas."
