People are being encouraged to join in a huge applause this evening (Thursday) at 8pm as a collective show of support and gratitude for the NHS staff working tirelessly to save lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Clap For Carers campaign, which started online, is being staged because "during these unprecedented times they need to know we are grateful", according to the organisers.
You can join in from your front door, garden, balcony, window or even your living room to show all nurses, doctors, GPs, paramedics and carers on the frontline of the crisis our appreciation for their ongoing hard work and fight against Covid-19.
People are also being urged to spread the message so as many people know about this as possible.
Tameside Radio will also be joining radio stations up and down the country which are set to join the nation in the big applause to recognise the immense efforts of all NHS workers.
You can also show your appreciation by getting involved on social media, using the hashtag #clapforourcarers.
People are also being encouraged to light up their homes and businesses, or turn social media banners and logos blue.
We hope you as many people as possible will join in tonight and show their support for the NHS.
