Staff and pupils at Inspire Academy in Ashton have sent a message of support to Tameside Hospital staff in the form of a giant banner outside school.
Those children who are still attending school aren’t working to the usual timetable and they wanted to create something special to remind local health workers how much they are valued.
Inspire Academy principal, Louise Byrne, said: “We have quite a lot to do with the hospital as we are so close and lots of our parents work there too, so we wanted to do something to show our appreciation.
“We’ve had a good reaction to it on social media so we’re glad that we’ve got the message out there.”
Two banners and thanking NHS workers, and some colourful rainbows have been hung on the school railings, so staff on their way to work at the hospital can see them.
