An Audenshaw nursery is celebrating after winning MP Andrew Gwynne's Small Business Award.
Children 4 Most were named winners just before Christmas and were overwhelmed with the support.
Each award is voted for by the local community and the team at the Cemetery Road nursery was delighted to be honoured.
Businesses are first nominated before going to a public vote.
The three ladies behind the nursery’s success, Nicola Sullivan, Alison Davies and Sheila Baldwin, said they were delighted to receive the award.
Owners Nicola and Alison are both qualified primary teachers and oversee everything that goes on in the nursery.
Nicola said: “It’s amazing and it was lovely to end the year on such a high, especially after the difficult year we’ve had.
“It lifted everyone’s spirits and it’s nice to be noted for what you’ve done.
“It feels like people respect what you’re doing.”
The family-run business has been operating for 20 years and also has sites in Ashton and Hyde.
Nicola paid tribute to her staff who have continued to support children and their families throughout the pandemic, saying: “Many of our staff have worked throughout the pandemic for key workers when nurseries had closed.
“They have strong relationships with parents at all time.
“We have had to organise rooms so that children are in their bubbles and parents are no longer allowed in to the nursery.
“We have introduced lots of new policies and procedures to follow within the nursery. Enhanced cleaning has been put in to place.
“Parents have been very supportive and have adhered to all the measures that have had to be put in place.”
