Normally behind the counter of her business Decisions ladies wear in Ashton, Val Unwin has taken up a different job.
With the business closed during lockdown, Val has decided to step up to the challenge of raising money for Cancer Research by doing a 10,000 steps a day challenge during March.
Val said: “I know the pandemic has a terrible impact on fundraising for many charities that have lost so much income.
“By doing my bit I wanted to support the great work done by Cancer Research and I’d like to thank everyone who has supported me with a donation already.”
Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years.
Consistent progress is being made, but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
