Social Media Executive Job Opportunity

Bird Consultancy is an award-winning creative communications agency and they're on the lookout for a Social Media Executive to join their team!  

Bird Consultancy work very closely with Quest Media Network so you will also get to work across Tameside Radio, Tameside Reporter, Oldham Reporter and Glossop Chronicle. 

What does a Social Media Executive do?

The Social Media Executive will work closely with Bird's Head of Social and their design team in creating/running large digital campaigns for a variety of clients.

The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organise their work using tools like Microsoft Excel and office equipment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who is looking to pursue a career in digital, media and communications. But, if you also have previous experience in a different role with similar responsibilities, they'd still love to meet you!


These are just some of the tasks you can expect to handle working with Bird:

  • Creating and maintaining content
  • Scheduling day-to-day social media posts across multiple platforms
  • Providing insight into projects and clients
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of large campaigns
  • Assist with paid advertising campaigns
  • creating and uploading blogs to websites
  • Assist in the creation of social media/website reports
  • Monitoring engagement across platforms
  • Contributing to team meetings
  • Assisting with creation of proposals for new campaigns/clients
  • Assist with the creativity of campaigns
  • Use a variety of platforms such as Hootsuite, WordPress, Google Analytics

There will be a lot of on-the-job learning with full support from Bird's Head of Social.


Bird love giving people the opportunity to learn and grow in their role. But here are some of the basics you’ll need:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • A passion for social media and a good understanding of platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & LinkedI\

Desirable skills

  • Experience with website CMS platforms such as WordPress
  • Experience with platforms such as Hootsuite/Google Analytics
  • Experience in a similar communications-based role
