High Peak walks are back this week

High Peak Walks For Health start again on Thursday.

The weekly ‘progressive’ walk will begin at 10am from outside Glossop train station on Norfolk Street.

The next ‘easy’ walk is on Tuesday. If you fancy a stroll, make sure you're at New Mills Golf Club, (SJ995 865), in time for a 1.30pm start.

If you want something tougher, there’s a walk described as ‘strenuous’ that leaves Paddock Lane in Kettleshulme (SK988 799) at 1pm on Wednesday.

Easy walks last up to 80 minutes and may include some stiles and hill walking.

Progression walks can take up to two hours, include up-hill walking and it’s best to take a drink.

If ‘strenuous’ is more to your liking, expect stiles, hills and rough terrain and be out for up to three hours.

But it’s at a pace to suit everyone and don’t forget to take a drink and snack for a stop along the way.
